It is documented in the annals of Macedonia's Missionary Baptist Churches history that, upon dismissing from St. John
Missionary Baptist Church, located in Tacoma, WA with the support of the Pastor Joseph. Andrew Boles Sr. And the
membership of St. John Missionary Baptist Church that Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church was organized and
incorporated in June of 1996 by its founding pastor Rev. Kenneth W. Tunch..
With the Leadership of Rev. Kenneth W. Tunch and the assistance of Dr. Joseph Andrew Boles Sr, Pastor S.W.
Franklin, Pastor Charles S. Price, Pastor Dan W. States, Pastor Melvin Cain, Linda Cumberbatch, and Darryl Barnes
Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church retained its Christian charge and embarked on prompt, deliberate steps toward
the establishment of a place for worship. Armed with care and concern for continued spiritual development and the
desire to worship the Lord, these 8 Christians banded together.
A prayer group of 8 people met regularly for prayer and praise services at varies houses in the Tacoma WA area. The
group increased in size and the unanimous consensus of the group was to establish a new church.
Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church held its first service at the Portland Ave Community Center located in Tacoma
WA, where Dr. J.A. Boles, Pastor of the St. John Missionary Baptist Church and Pastor C.S. Price, Pastor of Mount Sinai
Missionary Baptist Church attended and had Rev. Kenneth W. Tunch installed as Pastor of Macedonia Missionary
Baptist Church.
In 1997 the Church moved from the community center to 8645 Pacific Ave Tacoma WA, and in May of 2010 the church
was re-located to 1201 South J Street where it could better carry out Gods mission.
